Saint Joseph School offers an excellent and affordable education within the Catholic tradition. Administered by the Diocese of Harrisburg, SJS proudly serves about 400 students in Grades Pre-K to 8. SJS features a challenging curriculum, a dedicated faculty, state-of the art technology and facilities, a wide array of enrichment opportunities, and very supportive families. We take seriously our mission to educate the whole person—intellectually, physically, and spiritually—while preparing our students to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world. Our students learn to serve others through the school’s commitment to teaching Gospel values.
The children who attend Saint Joseph School and their families are also supported by staff from the Capital Area Intermediate Unit, which provides guidance services, remedial services, and speech therapy. An Extended Day Program cares for students after school hours.
Saint Joseph School receives additional support in its mission from the surrounding community. This support comes from local public schools and civic organizations, as well as local and national businesses and nonprofit organizations.
The construction of a new school building in 2005 demonstrates a definite commitment of Saint Joseph School and the parish communities of Saint Joseph, Saint Katherine Drexel, and Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton to offer a quality, faith-based education to the children of these parishes and of the Diocese of Harrisburg.
Saint Joseph School offers extracurricular activities, including Drama, Quiz Bowl Team, Math 24 Program, MATHCOUNTS, Liturgy Choir, Band, Student Council, Live at SJS News Show, and Enrichment Clubs. Students also participate in soccer, basketball, and track through the Saint Joseph Chargers Athletic Association. Please click here for their website.
