Parents and students know that bullying in American schools has become a critical issue in recent years. Saint Joseph School will not tolerate bullying in our learning environment. To prevent bullying and to foster better social relationships and communication skills among our students, Saint Joseph School has implemented two programs offered by the Committee for Children: “Second Step” and “Steps to Respect”. “Second Step” promotes skills for social and academic success, including listening, paying attention, following directions, and self-control. “Steps to Respect” takes teachers and students through a series of interactive lessons designed to create a safe, bully-free environment. The Committee for Children is a global nonprofit aimed at preventing bullying, violence, and child abuse.
